The state capital of Ohio is Columbus. Ohio has a population of approximately 11.7 million people (as of 2019). It is known for its rolling hills and farmland, as well as its cities and industrial centers. Ohio has a rich and varied history, but its modern history can be traced back to the late 19th century. During this time, Ohio underwent a period of industrialization and urbanization. The state began to attract immigrants from all over the world, leading to an increase in population and economic growth. Ohio was one of the first states to ratify the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote in 1920. During World War II, Ohio was an important center for wartime production and manufacturing. After the war ended, Ohio experienced a period of economic prosperity thanks to the growth of industry and agriculture. In more recent decades, Ohio has seen a shift away from traditional manufacturing industries toward technology-based businesses. The state is now home to several major technology companies such as Amazon and Microsoft. Ohio is also home to several major universities such as The Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, and Cleveland State University which are helping drive innovation in the state’s economy.
