The Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is a private, non-profit osteopathic medical school located in Blacksburg, Virginia. Founded in 2002, VCOM was the first osteopathic medical school to open in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the first to open in the nation since 1979. VCOM offers a four-year program leading to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree. The college is fully accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and has achieved accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission of North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The tuition for Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is on the higher end compared to other medical schools. For the 2020-2021 academic year, the tuition rate is $60,500. VCOM also offers several financial aid programs to help students cover the cost of their education. These include scholarships, grants, and loan assistance.
