Among the most famous Castles – Castle Esztergom from the year 972 belongs to the castles and castles of Hungary. Stephen, the first saint of Hungary, first king and founder of the Hungarian empire was born in this castle.

They owe their good reputation to the eighty natural hot water springs of different temperatures and chemical compositions. The springs have been used for bathing and relaxing, as well as medicinal water since the Romans.
The city’s opera house should also be seen. The construction of the opera house began in 1875 according to the plans of the Hungarian architect Miklos Ybl.
The Stephen monument in Budapest, which is located exactly between the bastion and the church, is worth seeing. The monument is a bronze equestrian statue that is supposed to represent the holy King Stephen the First. The statue was moved to its current location in 1906.
Hungary also has a lot to offer nature lovers among tourists. So you shouldn’t miss the Ferto-Hansag National Park or Lake Neusiedl in German. The park has an area of approx. 32,587 hectares and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site for several years.

The Fishermen’s Bastion in Budapest is also a special masterpiece in terms of technical buildings. It was built in the neo-Gothic style between 1895 and 1902. Since the fishermen’s guild defended part of the city walls in the Middle Ages, the bastion got its name. You should also have seen Batthyany Square. The famous St. Anna Church is located directly on it.

The city also has some impressive bridges to offer. The most famous is the Chain Bridge. It was built between 1842 and 1848. There are two lion statues on each side. The Chain Bridge was the first bridge ever built in Budapest.
The Magareten Bridge, which has the shape of a Y-shaped rail, is also worth seeing. This bridge was built between 1872 and 1876.
Budapest has several other interesting bridges to offer, such as the Liberty Bridge, the Elisabeth Bridge, the Petöfi Bridge and the Arpad Bridge. There are also many impressive buildings to visit in the city.
So Parliament shouldn’t be missed. It was built in 1904 and is a really ostentatious building. The neo-Gothic style has given the building an excellent reputation around the world.
But also the Franz Liszt University of Music, the Town Hall, the Hungarian Academy of Science and the Westbahnhof are really worth seeing buildings and absolute exemplary examples of the masterful architecture of the Hungarians.
Anyone spending their vacation in Budapest should at least have a look at one of the wonderful thermal baths. There are many of these baths scattered across the city. These would be the Gellert bath, the Lukacs bath, the Kiraly bath, etc.
Museum lovers will certainly not be disappointed in Budapest, as there is a whole list of different museums in the city where tourists can visit a lot.
There is a pharmacy museum in Budapest, where you can learn more about the history of pharmacies from the Middle Ages to the present day. The Archaeological Museum is certainly a must. Likewise the Bajor Gizi Theater Museum. There are many more museums with different exhibitions to visit in the city than those mentioned so far.
Art is not neglected in Budapest either. There are many theaters and operas here where you can spend wonderful evenings.
Budapest also has a large number of different sacred buildings to offer. The St. Anne’s Church is definitely worth seeing. It was built between 1740 and 1765 and is considered the most beautiful baroque church in the country.
You should also have seen the Matthias Church. It was the coronation site in 1867 of the famous Empress Sissi. A church has stood on this site since the thirteenth century, but it was structurally altered several times over the centuries until it got its current appearance. In the sixteenth century, when Hungary was under the rule of the Turks, the Matthias Church was even a mosque.
Other sacred buildings are the St. Stephen’s Church, the Franciscan Church, the Great Synagogue and the inner-city parish church.
There are also some palaces and castles to visit in Budapest. The highlight is the castle palace, which today houses a national gallery, the historical museum, the museum of contemporary art and the national library. There are more than six million documents on display in the library.
Also in the other two castles, the baroque palace Nagyteteny and Zichy, some museums are now housed.
A visit to the zoological-botanical garden will certainly be interesting. The park was established in 1866. Only since the beginning of the twentieth century has it been home to animals such as lions, polar bears, birds of prey, etc. In the palm house, there are tropical plants and other plants to be seen.
